At Southborough Pre-school we will be responsible for introducing your child to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum in a fun and stimulating way.

Our Vision is that through play-based learning, the children gain a level of independence, confidence and the social skills required for the next part of their learning journey.

We fulfil this through interactive and creative play, and activities, in a safe and friendly environment. The elements we cover, as outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), include:-

  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Communication language
  • Physical development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive Arts and Design

The Early Years Foundation work we carry out continues through to primary school and for that reason we have built up close links with Southborough Primary School and other primary schools in the area. Primary Reception staff visit the Pre-school in Term 6 to meet with the children who will be join their school in September of that year. This is of real benefit to both teaching staff and children as familiarity will already be built up prior to your child starting school.

As you are already aware from visiting and choosing Southborough Pre-school we are also able to offer fantastic outdoor facilities as well as indoor. This outdoor space helps support our focus on healthy lifestyles and activities.
